BETHLEHEM, West Bank –Nike Zoom Kobe V "I felt very nervous and frightened walking through the Erez Crossing today. I was forced to go back to Gaza. My family was waiting for me to return with my university degree, but I came home without carrying the dream that they were waiting for," said Berlanty Azzam, a 22-year-old woman from Gaza, in a phone interview Tuesday. Azzam has been a student at Bethlehem University since 2005. Four years later and just two months shy of completing her degree in business management, Azzam was stopped on Oct. 28 at a routine Israeli checkpoint near Ramallah, in the West Bank, on her way to a job interview. When the Israeli guard noticed Gaza City on her ID card, she was immediately arrested for being in the West Bank without permission. Within hours, according to her attorney, Yadin Elam, she was blindfolded, handcuffed, and removed to Gaza by force – without any kind of hearing or access to a lawyer before she was deported. Azzam admits that she did not have the required permission to study in the West Bank – something that has been increasingly difficult for Gazans to obtain since Hamas, the Palestinian militant Allen Iverson Shoes movement, took over Gaza in 2007 and the Israeli Supreme Court ruled that students from Gaza had to obtain a permit. But, Elam said, those permits didn’t exist when she initially enrolled in Bethlehem University back in 2005. At that time, Azzam received a four-day permit to enter Israel, traveled to Bethlehem to enroll and never went back to Gaza. She also said that she repeatedly tried to get permit-application forms, without success. Azzam, a well-spoken, educated woman, celebrated her 22nd birthday on Monday far from the campus where she hopes to obtain her degree. She particularly wanted to study in heavily Christian Bethlehem because of her faith (she is one of an estimated 1,500-2,500 Christians living in Gaza). The Israeli government military, Elam says, makes no claim that Azzam poses a security threat. But, according to Israel’s rules, even if a student from Gaza is declared risk-free and seeks to cross to the West Bank Reebok Answer XIIfor the sole purpose of studying, once in the West Bank, that individual may in theory decide at any moment to engage in terrorist acts; therefore, he or she is not permitted to be there. This policy has a particularly adverse effect on students’ educational aspirations since many university programs don’t exist in Gaza and can only be studied in the West Bank. Her case has drawn widespread attention in Israel and has caught the attention of the U.S. State Department. According to the Washington Post, officials from the U.S. Embassy in Tel Aviv have made inquiries about the case with the Israeli government. "Berlanty, and other Palestinian students from Gaza, have the right to access Palestinian universities in the West Bank," said Sari Bashi, the executive director of Gisha, an Israeli non-profit organization that uses legal assistance to try to protect the freedom of movement of Palestinians and is representing Azzam. "Allowing them to do so also promotes IsraeliDwight Howard shoes and U.S. interests in helping young people access the educational resources they need to build a better future in the region," said Bashi. "There is no security claim against Berlanty. It is not clear what Israel gains by preventing her from completing her degree." The pressure appears to have worked: Israel's high court ordered the military to give Azzam an opportunity to challenge her removal to Gaza at an administrative hearing. The military held a hearing Tuesday on the Gaza side of the Erez Border Crossing between Israel and Gaza, attended by Azzam and her attorney. "The army did today what it should have Adidas TS Bounce Commander Dwight Howard done that October night when Berlanty was arrested, handcuffed, blindfolded and forcibly removed to Gaza. [It] listened to what Berlanty has to say," said Elam. "We hope that they will decide the right thing and allow her to go back to her studies." Until her case is decided, Azzam is biding her time and hoping that she will be able to return to school soon. "After the military hearing today, I’m optimistic about returning to Bethlehem soon to be able to achieve my family’s dream of receiving a degree," Azzam said over the phone from Gaza on Tuesday night. "And so I can prove to Carmelo Anthony Shoesthe whole world that the degree was my main – and only – goal in the West Bank." uggs outlet http://tye123.phreeblog.com/ http://tye123.ontheroad.to http://www.s-video-blog.com/tye http://blogs.cjb.net/tye123/ http://tye123.diaryland.com

A 1500-tonneNBA all star shoes boulder came within metres of crushing a sleeping family of four after breaking free from a large overhanging rock face on Black Friday. Jenny and Michael Day were asleep in their Wyberba home near Stanthorpe on the Granite Belt in southern Queensland when they were jolted awake by an "almighty crash" about 3am. The enormous boulder had broken off a large rock face overhanging their property and tumbled about 150m. "About 50m more and we would have Nike Zoom LeBron Playoff been gone. It would have completely crushed the house," Mrs Day said. Neighbour Trevor Cooper said in 32 years of living in Wyberba he had never seen a rock of that size come adrift before. "If it had gone another roll, there would've been nothing to stop it. It would've gained momentum again and wiped out the house," Mr Cooper said. Queensland University of Technology geology expert David Murphy said the boulder was a time bomb. "The fracture along which the Nike Zoom LeBron Soldier IIIboulder broke must have originally started some time ago and has slowly spread from the top left to the bottom right until finally breaking completely," Dr Murphy said. "It was simply a matter of time." He said the Days would be well advised to get a geotechnical engineer to inspect the rest of the rock face. Mrs Day said they NBA all star shoeswould just have to live with the rock, planted firmly next to the water tank. "It's not like we can move it," she laughed.

FEDERAL funding forNBA basketball shoes sports should be maintained at current levels supplemented by additional money if high performance targets are reached, an independent panel has recommended. The Government remained committed to being a strong financial partner of elite sport into the future, Sports Minister Kate Ellis said in releasing the long-awaited Future of Australian Sport report in Canberra. The report does notNike Zoom LeBron 793 recommend a funding cut to elite sport or the sport sector as a whole. "There are things in this report that might ruffle a few feathers," Ms Ellis said. The review, headed by businessman David Crawford, consulted with more than 650 groups and individual during its 14 month investigation. One of the 39 recommendations includes removing the Australian Institute of Sport from the Australian Sports Commission. The institutes were the backbone of elite sport in Australia, Ms Ellis said. The review recommends a broadening of the definition of sporting success to include measures of the nation's fitness and participation in activity. It also wants a focus on physical education in schools, aiming to increase participation through innovative and flexible activities. The panel recommended the first ever comprehensive national sports policy framework - a national and innovative approach to developing sports policy at both an elite and community level. Mr Crawford said it was beyond the review's scope to suggest how much funding the Government should give to sport. But he warned the human infrastructure of community sport was under threat because of continued Nike Zoom LeBron James Soldier pressure on volunteers. "There is no coherent approach to building community sports and physical facilities that are needed," Mr Crawford said. It was time "once again" to make sport and physical education a priority in the education system. The panel ruled out a HECS-like system for elite sports people, whose career had been assisted by taxpayer funds. "This issue has been looked at twice before," Mr Crawford said, adding it was a much more complex matter than recovery of university fees. Ms Ellis said the Government would consider the review's recommendation and respond as a priority. "But at this stage they are only recommendations," she said. Ms Ellis later saidNBA basketball shoes a response would be made "early in the new year".
